Heaven - what we should ask of it

The world is full of people who continually clamour for material goods, and Heaven itself is bombarded with all kinds of requests—it is snowed under. Of course, ‘snowed under’ is only a figure of speech, because Heaven can instantly grant us anything we desire, if it so wishes. But even so, rather than asking for material gratification, it is better to ask for the light, love and wisdom that will enable you to help your friends, and to improve and save them. Ask for the strength to accomplish God’s will, ask that His kingdom of peace, love and eternal life be established on earth. Since prayers of this kind are extremely rare, Heaven will say, ‘Oh! Here is someone who is not like all the rest. Let’s tend to their request first and grant their desires in full.’ While to other requests, the invisible world replies, ‘Be patient! We will see about that later.’*
