Perfection - exercises to do in order to become an image of God

You aspire to perfection, to become an image of God; you would like the luminous spirits to help you in your endeavours, and you think that you will have to do something extraordinary to make this possible. Not at all, just start with something very simple: be grateful for what you have already received and always strive to give something good to others. Learn, particularly, to rejoice in all that you have previously scorned or neglected. Try to find at least one thing to marvel at every day, and treasure it in your mind and heart. If you never do any exercises of this kind, the heavenly entities will lose interest and turn away from you, and the gates of the invisible world will close—all but one, that of darkness and suffering.*
