True love is a vibration of extreme subtlety, and to be able to send out this vibration, as well as attract it, requires a great deal of attention and vigilance. Nothing is more important than knowing how to give and receive love. Those who have understood this feel such fulfilment and such joy that everything else pales beside it. For love is something quite different from the attraction that propels humans toward each other and then causes them to separate when the attraction ceases and they feel drawn to someone else. The day you know what true love is, you will draw elements from each encounter that are purer, warmer and more luminous – immortal elements – and each one of you will say, ‘My God, thank you! You have sent me a being who, for me, is like the sun that warms me and gives me light in the winter, a being who is like a delicious, sweet-smelling fruit that nourishes me, like water that quenches my thirst and air that lightens me.’
