In the initiatic sense of the word, writing is an act of will and renouncement. To write is first of all to succumb to something within oneself and then to bring it out in order to make it known. To write is to leave a mark, and some philosophers and artists have left beautiful marks which have been the subject of thousands of years of study. But above and beyond the philosophers and the artists are the great initiates, who are the true creators, because they work with divine magic. A true magus is someone who is able to write just a few words in space, letters of fire which become inscribed everywhere in the minds and hearts of human beings
