Life is infinitely rich and constantly opens up new opportunities to us. Be aware, however, that only the search for what is absolute, in other words God Himself, will give us fulfilment. The difficulty is not to allow ourselves to become discouraged and to understand fully the nature of what we are undertaking. Anyone who has thought carefully about the nature of their work is not disheartened when they encounter problems or hurdles. They say: 'That's the down-side of the job,' but this does not stop them from continuing what they are doing. Everyone knows that every job, every occupation has its negative side. So why are spiritualists not aware of the down-side of their job? The fact they become discouraged and are tempted to give up proves they have not understood. If they had, each time they came across a problem they would have carried on with even greater zeal. Whenever you become disheartened, endeavour to make this discouragement drive you on even more. This is true alchemy, the philosopher's stone.
