The symbol of the eye in the centre of a triangle is very widely used in Christianity and certain spiritual movements. It represents the all-seeing eye of God. That doesn’t mean, as some naively believe, that God is busy observing us from heaven and noting down all our good and bad actions so he can punish or reward us later. This eye is within us, it observes and watches us. It’s a good thing for us to feel we are being watched by this inner eye, for it saves us from making mistakes. We should even ask it to watch us constantly, and we should be glad that the mere sense of this watchful eye keeps us on the right path when we are on the verge of deviating.
