Purity - to make of your being (thoughts, feelings and actions) an instrument of the spirit
The essential role of an initiatic teaching is to teach a disciple how best to carry out each ordinary, daily act, so as to attract only the purest elements. When we purify our physical organism and psychic bodies—the astral and mental bodies—the spirit can begin to manifest through our brain, and we become stronger, more active, and clearer in our thinking. So from now on, try to work to introduce purity into your actions, feelings and thoughts, in order to make of your whole being an instrument of the spirit. In this way, the time will come when, by means of your spirit, you will continue to learn, work and help others, even while you sleep. This is what an Initiate does at night. His physical body lies there, asleep and motionless, but his spirit travels everywhere to help and enlighten living creatures. His spirit never sleeps; it remains active.
