Enemies - to weaken them, speak well of them

People detest each other, and speak ill of each other; of course, they know full well that in doing so, they are not abiding with the teaching of the Gospels, but what difference does that make? What they do not know, however, is that there exists a law according to which those who incessantly speak ill of others impart their own strength to them, provide them with weapons and therefore actually empower their enemies. Do you want to your enemy to grow weaker? If so, speak well of them, find at least one good quality in them and tell others about it. Then the spirits will come before them and say: ‘How much do you have in your coffers? Very well, one share will be for that person over there, because they have said good things about you.’ But if you slander them, the spirits will come and force you to pay out your own energies; so it is you yourself who give strength to your enemy.
