Recall moments of happiness when you felt that life had meaning - You have all experienced moments of great happiness in your family or with friends—and perhaps through books

You have all experienced moments of great happiness in your family or with friends—and perhaps through books, works of art or music, or at the sight of nature’s splendour. Try to recall these moments, even if you have never known more than three or four in your life... or just one. Come back to them over and over again. Try to remember the time and place, the circumstances, the people involved. Concentrate on them until you recapture the same thoughts, the same feelings, the same sensations you had at the time. Little by little it will be as though you were reliving the same experiences with the same intensity, as though it were happening all over again, here and now. The important thing is not what is happening objectively, outside you, but what you are experiencing inwardly. Call to mind all the times when you understood and felt deeply that life was good, that it had meaning. Keep all these moments to hand for when you need them. And, depending on the circumstances, try to choose the one that best fits your need, for just as one kind of music is more suited to certain occasions than another, one memory might be more beneficial in certain circumstances than another.

“Through my teaching, I wish to give you essential notions about the human being: how he is built, his relationship with nature, the exchanges he must make with the universe, in order to drink from the sources of divine life. …ˮ
