Knowledge acquired on earth cannot be carried into the next world - Instead of spending your time reading or running about

Instead of spending your time reading or running about, always chasing some new thing to learn, get into the habit of setting aside a few moments each day to connect with the divine world. What you will gain from this practice you will be able to carry with you wherever you go, even into the next world: nothing can take it away. Everything you find in books, all the knowledge that you are able to acquire, will never truly be yours: when you leave this earth you will have to abandon it all, and when you come back, you will have to start learning all over again. Those who come into this world bring with them only what they, themselves, have truly acquired: they are stripped of all the rest because it did not belong to them, they took it from others. All they have borrowed will of course bring them earthly benefits for the brief time they spend on this earth—they will be complimented, lauded and applauded by people who are not very enlightened. But when they depart this world, they will find themselves naked and destitute, and they will return to earth naked and destitute.
