Life - practise a few essential truths, knowledge will come later

What matters most in life is to take a few essential truths, to understand them well, and to put them into practice. A spiritual master doesn’t so much seek to give his disciples knowledge as to give them practical methods and above all, an impetus. Knowledge will come later, and to those who have not made up their minds to work, spiritual knowledge is useless. What is the point, for example, of having read books on cosmogony: how the world was created, the successive phases it went through, Saturnian, solar, lunar, and so on? It is all so distant, so impossible to verify. How will these notions serve them if they have not yet learned to eat, breathe, work and love properly—in other words, how to live? We may know how many periods God took to create the universe, but we are making ourselves sick, taxing our brains, causing ourselves heartbreak and breaking the hearts of others.

“Through my teaching, I wish to give you essential notions about the human being: how he is built, his relationship with nature, the exchanges he must make with the universe, in order to drink from the sources of divine life. …ˮ
