Harm - practice in order to become impervious to all that is negative

It is very painful to be insulted or slandered, and of course you feel hurt when this happens. But why dwell on it and mope for hours on end? Stop feeling miserable and start thinking. Tell yourself, ‘Some people have treated me poorly, but many others love me. I have a family and friends…’ And even if you do not have family or friends, remind yourself that the Lord loves you, the angels love you. In this way, by thinking about your friends, about the divine world and about the Lord who has created so many good and beautiful things from which you benefit every moment of your life, you will forget about the harm inflicted on you. With constant practice of this kind you will become impervious to all that is negative. You cannot prevent people from saying hurtful things, but you have the means to protect yourself.*
