God’s name - Yod Heh Vav Heh: 4 aspects of the Divine
03/22/2026
The four Hebrew letters that form the Name of God, Yod Heh Vav Heh יהוה represent four aspects of the Divinity: colour, sound, form and movement. For the universe, the great work of the Creator, reveals itself essentially through four modes, four fundamental features: colour, sound, form and movement, and the multiple combinations thereof. It is always the same reality but expressed in different ways. When we come to movement, we discover the principles themselves, the origin of all things. So, it is very important for a disciple to study at least one of these aspects in depth—be it colour, sound, form or movement—in order to decipher the language of nature, and understand how it expresses itself and what it has to tell us.
Delving deeper into the four letters of God’s Name, Yod Heh Vav Heh, we discover the four fundamental parts of Initiatic Science: the Kabbalah, astrology, magic and alchemy. These are represented in a human being by the head (the Kabbalah), the lungs (astrology), the stomach (alchemy), the hands and sexual organs (magic).
