New Year - concentrate on a divine thought and light will come to reinforce it

Thousands of years ago, a shepherd on a mountain was idly amusing himself by scratching out a small furrow in the ground with his staff. Then came storms, snow, frost, wind and sun, and these natural forces worked away on the little furrow until, millennia later, it became the bed of a torrential river. Well, you should know that the very same thing occurs within the earth of our own being. Every thought, every feeling is like a furrow that we make within ourselves, and all the psychic and spiritual forces circulating in space serve to deepen it. So, as today marks the beginning of a New Year, do your best to dig a furrow in your mind by concentrating on a divine thought and making a divine wish, keeping it carefully within you all day long. Then, day after day, all the powers of light will come to reinforce that wish and support you in your efforts. They will say to you, ‘Remember what you signed and put your stamp on, on the first day of the year—go on, keep at it!’
