Che l’uomo possieda in sé tutte le ricchezze dello Spirito non costituisce un’affermazione astratta, ma una grande Verità, conosciuta fin dall’antichità, della quale l’uomo deve essere pienamente consapevole. L’uomo, infatti, quando ignora questa Verità, si sente povero e misero, se non riesce a possedere una certa quantità di beni materiali. Identificandosi esclusivamente con il corpo fisico, affida alle condizioni esteriori la propria felicità, e abbandonandosi a pensieri e a sentimenti istintivi s’illude di trovare la propria libertà; mentre in realtà costruisce la sua prigione. La libertà risiede nello spirito e deve essere considerata come uno stato interiore prodotto dai pensieri e dai sentimenti.
