"In search of the Sun", in English and in French.
22 May: Why are humans so ungrateful - ungrateful towards the Lord, ungrateful towards nature, ungrateful towards one another? All they remember of their day-to -day life is what they didn't have or didn't like, so they do not see that there is much to be thankful for. And yet, there is an enormous amount to be thankful for. Those who want to progress on the path of evolution must learn gratitude, for that is what will one day give them the key to the transformation of matter. Try to really understand that, if you know how to give thanks, the nature of the elements composing your physical matter will be different, more sensitive, subtler and more resistant, and you will feel your psychic and even your physical organs doing better work.
"Learn to live the new life. Breathe it in; eat it; drink it; radiate it and the whole of Initiatic Science will one day be revealed to you. In even the most insignificant actions of your daily life you can find a correspondence with alchemy, astrology, magic and the Cabbalah. In nutrition you find alchemy; in breathing, astrology; in words and gestures, magic, and in your thoughts, the Cabbalah. In this way, by learning to give their full cosmic dimension to your eating, breathing, moving, speaking and thinking you will possess the basis of these four sacred sciences."
ALCHEMY, ASTROLOGY, MAGIC, CABBALAH
Four Sacred Sciences
When eating we should concentrate on the energy, the quintessences imprisoned in our food, for that is where life is. The physical substance of food is simply a vehicle. It is the quintessence contained in that substance that we need to find so as to nourish also our heart, mind, soul and spirit.
True Alchemy - The Pursuit of Perfection
Our higher faculties draw their energy from our lower functions, those indispensable roots which enable us, as human 'trees', to draw from our 'soil' the substances that we then transform into flowers and fruits. Study the way that a tree, thanks to the light of the sun, transforms the raw mineral juices absorbed by its roots into sugar sap. In the same way, thanks to the light of the spiritual sun, we can transform the raw juices of our instinctive tendencies into the sugar sap that goes to nourish the flowers and fruits of our spiritual garden.
The Philosopher's Stone
When one reads a description of the transmutation of physical matter in alchemical treatises one is immediately struck by the correspondence between certain aspects of this process and the work of transformation spiritual people have to effect on their psychic matter. In order to prepare the philosopher's stone, alchemists endeavour to capture and condense a quintessence which is to be found in the sun and which, when in contact with base metals, causes their rate of vibration to increase thus effecting their transmutation. But that solar quintessence sought by alchemists is already within us. It is the divine principle which we have to seek every day at the higher levels of our being so as to bring it down through our different bodies until it reaches our physical body.
The Alchemical Magical Meaning of Nutrition
If you know how to accompany breathing with a conscious work of the mind, it will reveal great mysteries to you, for it is governed by the ebb and flow which is the key to the rhythms of the universe. By endeavouring to become conscious of this rhythm within yourself, you enter the sphere of cosmic harmony, and a relationship of exchange is established between you and the universe as a whole. By breathing in you receive influences and subtle particles from space and by breathing out you give back the best of your heart and soul.
The Zodiac, Key to Man and to the Universe
The only way for human beings to escape the restrictions imposed on them by the stars is to work consciously to restore their link with God. In doing this they free themselves from the law of necessity and come under the law of divine providence. But this freedom to which they aspire is the very last thing they manage to obtain. This is why freedom is considered to be the crowning achievement of spirituality. And this crown appears as a circle of light above the head of Initiates to show that they have freed themselves from the circle of limitations.
Respiration: Spiritual Dimensions and Practical Applications
Every gesture we make triggers forces which function in the different worlds, and these forces correspond to currents, colours and vibrations which reach out to contact beings in space. Each gesture opens or closes certain doors and puts us in touch with forces which are either harmful or beneficial. In other words, our gestures are the messages we continually send out to the visible and the invisible worlds. They are the secret signs by means of which we contact living beings and, if we know how to impregnate them with wisdom and love they can be the means by which we receive the best possible response from both earth and Heaven.
The Divine Word and Human Speech
Those who know how to speak words that inspire and vivify others possess a magic wand in their mouth. And their words are never spoken in vain, for one of the four elements - earth, water, air or fire - is always there, watching and waiting for the opportunity to participate in the realisation of everything we say. Sometimes the realisation is effected at a great distance from the person who sowed the seed, so it is not seen, but it happens nevertheless. Just as seeds are carried far and wide by the wind, our good words fly away and produce their magnificent effects far from our sight.
The Divine Magic
If you ask an initiate to sum up in a few words the science to which he devotes all his time and energy, he can, of course, do so. It takes only two words: Tree of Life. Yes, but what would you understand if he explained nothing more? And even if he explained, you would still not understand unless you were already conscious that you yourself are the Tree of Life. Yes, every human being is created in the image of the Tree of Life. Kether is within us, as are Chochmah, Binah, Chesed, Gebourah and Tiphareth, with all their elements, entities and activities. True self-knowledge is possible only where there is knowledge of the Tree of Life. To know oneself is to know the immensity of one's inner being with all its different regions and the links between them.
ANGELS and Other Mysteries of the Tree of Life
If you want to be in touch with the angelic hierarchies and get to know them better, it is essential to know their nature, their virtues and their powers. As soon as you wake in the morning, why not begin your day by thinking about all these luminous beings coming and going between the earth and the Throne of God? In this way your whole day would be illuminated... Think about them, become close to them, contemplate them in your heart and soul and pronounce their names. As you become more and more aware of the reality of these spiritual entities their virtues will impregnate you and you will be vivified and illuminated. Your inner world will be enriched.
Cosmic Balance - The Secret of Polarity
The 1 is an entity that is whole and entire in itself. In order to manifest externally it has to become 2. In the science of the initiates 2 is not the addition of two single units as in mathematics, but the 1 which becomes polarised as positive and negative in order to create. The architecture of the Tree of Life is based on this notion: the 1 polarised as positive and negative, masculine and feminine. It is the combination of these two antagonistic but complementary principles under the authority of Kether, the Crown, which is known to Cabbalists as the Cosmic Scales.
